Mr. Ime Ekpenyong Ekrikpo is an astute civil servant who has distinguished himself having risen through the ranks to attain his current position as a Director in the Federal Civil Service. He has served in various capacities within the Mining and Metallurgical Sectors making valuable contributions to national development. With his background as a Chemist, Geologist and Public Administrator, he has made remarkable contributions to the Federal Civil Service. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Metallurgical Society (NMS), Member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) and a Certificated International Standardization Organization (ISO) qualified person. He has vast experience of the Minerals and Metallurgical Industry locally and internationally having headed the Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals Department, Metallurgical Inspectorate and Raw Materials Development Department, Investment Promotion and Mineral Trade Department as well as a good taint with the Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Department. He has wide experiences cutting across various disciplines having undertaken several training programs and attended various International Conferences and Seminars across the world.
CURRENT PROFESSIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS/ACHIEVEMENTS:
Mr. Ime Ekpenyong Ekrikpo is currently the Director, Metallurgical Raw Materials Development and Investment Promotion Department of the Ministry of Steel Development. He has made sterling contributions to the formation and establishment of the new paradigms in the Metallurgical Industry and mentoring the young and up-coming Officers on the direction of sustainable development of the industry. He led a team of dedicated officers to develop the Renewed Metals Policy and contribute to the articulation of the Roadmap for the sustainable development of the Nigerian Steel Industry as well as the Nigerian Metallurgical Industry Bill. He is currently designing the template for the sustainable development of the abundant metallurgical raw materials in Nigeria to ensure it is effective harnessed and utilized to substitute imports and enhance competitiveness in the global space.
